Hows about a meet?

Heyo all! Before I get into the actual subject of this post I want to take a moment to say HOLY JIBBS!!! This site has grown ^^ I miss being active here but such is life when you have school and two jobs and barely have time to work on commissioned artwork you owe people Oo

Anyhow, a hand to charem the site's creator and all you wonderful people and your love of pokemon vore. You make the internet a VERY interesting place ;3

Now, onto the subject at hand. Because this site is awesome and I'm curious to meet a lot of you. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in the idea of an HPF meet? I know alot of us are probably quite the distance from each other (which makes me interested in seeing one of those member's maps which show a bunch of dots that help to show density of where members live) and money is tight But if it's planned carefully and methodically, and in enough time for people to save up money, it could be pulled off. After all, a lot of great cons started off as meets with friends from different places. This could escalate into a con XD The world's first vore convention~ (with pokemon overtones XD)

ok, ok, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. Anyhow, it would be nice to know if anyone's interested. While we're at it, where is your general location so as to better see where a central meeting place could be set up.

I support this idea....though i'm broke....in school....no job....and in KY now....livin on a horse farm.....so i'm kinda screwed
but for you others, support this idea it is good.

Granted conventions aren't really my thing, and I don't have the money for such at thing at this time at least, it does sound like an interesting idea.

I personally like the idea! but like Lupe, I too am broke and in school, but I do have a job. problem, im in canadia. I would help out if I could though! if this thing were to happen, I would try my best to go!

I would definitely be interested, but maybe in a year or couple I would be able to scrounge up some money (and get to know you all better). Being in college and Alaska tends to make travel more difficult than I would like it to be (which is why I plan on moving to Washington state ASAP!).

I must give my firm support with the mapping idea. Even if we couldn't each afford to get together all at the same time, it would open up opportunities for many of us individually to go and visit another person on our own time.

I live in scotland and run a bimonthly all aged glasgow furmeet so i could help with setting up/doing but i also live in scotland and as we are all from diffrent parts of the world it seems highly un-doable

I aproove this idea, though it might be tough for me, since I live in Mexico... if only it was made near the border and I had 21 to be able to get car insurance... >_>

I personally would love to, but being scottish... yeah xP

Alas, with diversity of forumites comes the unfortunate difficulties of trying to meet up at any save particularly large events (IE conventions).

Still, I also back the idea of a mapping option, or at least some veracity in the 'location' field sometimes. X3

I second the idea of a map mostly because I'm curious to see how far this forum has spread

*chuckles* The forum's growth has surprised me also, Roco. ^^ It is quite something, just how many people are into Poke'vore, a liking that I considered a 'niche' interest... Seems it's quite a bit more than that!

That is quite an idea you present to us! =o A get-together of users would be an awesome idea! If the idea appears feasible in the future, I shall have to plan something together. Don't expect anything super-official from me...but we'll find a way to have a good time. =3

If the HPF ever escalated into a convention, I have to say I'd be extremely proud of the progress our interests have gone. It's a lofty goal, but certainly one I'd love to see happen. n..n

Anyways, yes, I am quite interested in the idea of a get-together! My money is very tight, but I wouldn't miss it for anything...well, unless it was out of country.

You asked about a user map. We have a "Who Is Online?" map, here: http://www.hungrypokemon.net/viewonline.htm Of course, this only will display users currently online on it, and data is apparently wiped when the user leaves the site. This is not a good map for our desires here.

However, I just messed around with Google Maps and have managed to create our very own HPF Usermap! Yep...you guys asked and I delivered. It's publically editable by you guys and can be viewed here!

Defaultedly, you're looking at a normal map, and clicking the Placemarks there will give you a username and a profile link. Click the 'Edit' button above the description to enter into the editing mode.

The instructions for how the mapping works is all contained in the description...so anyone who wishes to help, please add yourself and other users onto this map! Please remember to title each Placemark as the user's username, and to put a link to their HPF profile in the Description. I'm currently using the "Who Is Online?" list, and placing users on that, onto our new map.

Once we have this map more populated, then we'll better see how we can make a get-together happen. =3

Hehe, me all by my lonesome in california. Dunno if I would come to a meet even if I could make it. Im a bit apprehensive about meeting internet buddies in the real world. I like the anonymous feel the internets give :3
