http://www.hungrypokemon.net Has Been Purchased!

http://www.hungrypokemon.net has been purchased for our new domain name. Based on popular vote, my own opinion, and several sensible reasons, this web address was chosen. We gotta wait up to 5 days for the processing to complete, so - unless there's some sort of problem - we should have the new link up by Monday! Here's a quick Q&A...

Why are we changing our domain name? - To give us a shorter, more relevant, easier-to-remember link. It's more professional, and gets rid of that silly 'omgforum' part that I was required to include when I first established the HPF.

Why hungrypokemon.net? - Because it's quite close to the original link, meaning that people will not have trouble remembering it. Also...because 'hungrypokemon' is the best way to sum up our site. =3~

Why not hungrypokemonforums.net? - That was also considered at one time, but it was deemed somewhat inaccurate; we are indeed a forum, but we also have webcomics, other features, and in the future a gallery. Plus, our frontpage link ends in /forum.htm, so it would be redundant to have 'forum' said twice. And of course, 'hungrypokemon' is shorter.

Will we have to change our links and everything? - No, you can leave your bookmarks and links the same if you wish, though changing it once the new domain activates would be sensible. If you continue to use the old domain, it will simply forward you to the new domain, so there's really no need to worry about suddenly finding your links to stop working. The old domain won't 'disappear'.

How long will we have this new domain name? - It will last for one year from the day it activates. I will need to pay another 1600 credits a year from now to keep it running...so donations are always appreciated!

Are there any other benefits to buying this? - According to what I've read on our host's forum, I will also receive 10 local email addresses that I can dole out to whoever I wish! (By local, I mean that the email address would end in '@hungrypokemon.net'.) I will likely give these out to myself and my co-admins, and the rest...well, perhaps it would be a worthy contest prize? Once I learn more about how these emails are distributed, I will give another report about this.

When will this domain change happen? - According to Forumation, the processing will finish within 5 days, unless there's some sort of hangup (I can't see that happening). I will provide another announcement once our new domain name has officially activated! :3
