Why Isn't The HG/SS Girl Marina?

Don't get me wrong, she is cute.
But why isn't my girl, Marina isn't on this one?!?

It made me a bit mad. I was hoping for the same design as it was in Crystal version but they gave her a semi-lame outfit and mushroom hat.
At least make her hair blue like it was in Crystal.
Sheesh.

there are 2 explanations for this...

either she's a relative who was jealous and stole her spot or a toad in disguise trying to infiltrate the pokémon world.

Hmmmm.
Or maybe Mario plays some part into this?



Seriously, her outfit looks too mario influenced to me.
The hat and the overalls in general.

I have no idea why they'd do that, I can't see how they'd overlook her, and it seems kind of a given. Though I've gotta say I love that hat.
