Why Isn't The HG/SS Girl Marina?

Don't get me wrong, she is cute.
But why isn't my girl, Marina isn't on this one?!?

It made me a bit mad. I was hoping for the same design as it was in Crystal version but they gave her a semi-lame outfit and mushroom hat.
At least make her hair blue like it was in Crystal.
Sheesh.

there are 2 explanations for this...

either she's a relative who was jealous and stole her spot or a toad in disguise trying to infiltrate the pokémon world.

Seriously, her outfit looks too mario influenced to me.
The hat and the overalls in general.

I have no idea why they'd do that, I can't see how they'd overlook her, and it seems kind of a given. Though I've gotta say I love that hat. razz
