Rumor I Heard, Can Anybody Confirm?

So, here's what I heard: if you get something off the GTS from another country, aside from unlocking an international Pokedex entry you also get a four times greater chance of hatching a shiny by breeding your new foreign Pokemon.

Is this true, or just a crazy rumor? I mean, it'd obviously be really hard to manually confirm, since... statistically, you'd have to hatch 8,000 Pokemon or so and see if you get 4 shinies out of it. x3

So, instead, did anybody else hear anything like that?

I heard that as well, and I believe it's also posted at bulbapedia.

Not to also mention I also know someone who verified the Masuda Method, and they were shoving their shiny Eevee in my face.

Of course, the hard part is actually getting the thing you need off the GTS, which still doesn't guarantee it's from another country. x3

Also, you still need to hypothetically hatch 2000 eggs. x3

Although if the Pokemon from the GTS is Japanese, it'd be pretty obvious. xD

And I would never have that kind of patience to hatch that many eggs anyways. And plus, shiny Pokemon don't have any difference in power than a normal colored Pokemon, so I consider them to just be mini trophies of accomplishment.
