Your Favorite Pokémon Type

My preference skips around a bit depending on mood, but Electric, Dark, Water and Ground have nearly always been at the top.

It started with Ground due to the only Pokémon I ever had being a Sandslash card (I never had any first generation games).
Then when I finally got a game it was fire because of my starter.
It sort of skipped back and forth between Fire, water and electric (due to Raichu, Vaporeon and Lanturn).
Then when the third generation came out and I saw Flygon.... oooooooh..... ground again (now with added dragon).
When diamond and pearl appeared, I found it almost impossible to make up my mind.

I like most types, the only one I tend to be less thrilled about is Psychic (the psychic types I do like are all dual typed, with the other type being more prominent).

I like Water, and I always have. I like the water type more now because It is pared with ALL other types (exept Fire) and it's just so cool. (I don't talk much, so I don't post long posts)

this is actually based off on how cool a pokemon looks rather than a type, though if I had to choose in general, grass, water, electric, and steel have been my favs.

Ever since I played Silver, and then owned my own copy of Ruby, I have loved Fire typed, but then when they added Blaziken, Fighting slipped in. MY rankings for the types
1) Fire
2) Dark
3) Flying
4) Ice
5) Steel

I like flying types beacause of the all of the birds there, always been a bird maniac. Also fire ice and electeric beacause of the pretty colors *shot*.

He, Dark and Fire and Fighting, since in Ruby, my first Pokemon game, they made up my team. i beat the E4 with them.

I'll always stick to my dragon types, due to the fact they're very difficult to damage, and can often kick the crap out of most legendaries. :3~ Their weaknesses are hard to come across to boot.

Well depends on the regoin. In the first 3, maybe but in the Gen 4, you can easilly find a type to do it.

I like fire types because most of the fire type starters are pretty strong.

Yeah. Charizard and Infernape particularly stand out.

I like to be different; I'm the only one who voted for normal. Yes, normal is my favorite type. I don't need a fancy type like everyone else; most of my favorite Pokemon are normal types, and they're only weak to fighting, and they can learn a wide range of attacks. Normal will always be my favorite. After that would be fire, psychic, and dark.

Dark seems to be the one for me.

As predators? Fire or Poison.
As prey? Electric or Normal.
As Pokemon? Water or Ghost.
As characters in general? Grass or Water.

I -really- like Dragon and Steel, but when it comes down to it, I choose Psychic. No exceptions.

Dragon, Psychic, Flying, Ice, Fire, Electric, and Normal. That is all.

I loves dragon cuz there are a lot of kick ass dragon types. Been using dragonite in every party since Red and Blue. Dunno if theres a close second, but if there was, I guess poision cuz way back when I played the card game I made a poison deck that went undefeated with like 10-12 wins or something like that at those Toys-R-Us leagues XP

My favorite has always been Fighting type ^^ but since I've started liking Donphan, I've realised how cool Ground types are too ^^

My favorite is fire really. As well as dog type that isn't on there xD

My favorite types are Fire, Electric, Flying, Dark, and Steel. I just went through all of the Pokemon (and some fakemon) and tallied up the types of the ones I liked. I'm curious as to why no one voted Rock. I only had one tally myself, and I think that was for the Gargoyle Pokemon I made up.

I will go with fire, mostly because is my rp character =p

But my 2 selection will be grass type, mostly because of chikorita ^w^

I've always liked Electric types the most (what a surprise, huh? ), but Dragon type is a close second just because Dragonite has always been a personal favorite of mine.

5th generation is coming out soon, new pokémon are being released bi-weekly.

I'm almost sure that the ground type is going to be as epic as flygon again, with the introduction of that mole and it's pre-evo.
Then there's the usual electric, water, dark, fighting, etc.
tl:dr: I have identical favourites, just in a different order.

PS: Also there's a cool primary psychic type too so I'm willing to withdraw that comment I made about psychic types.
And a cool rock type too, I see Gigaiasu having a lot of potential now that sturdy works like a focus sash.

Dark, Fighting, Fire and Electric make up the base of most of my teams. The rest focuses on Psychic, Dragon and Flying. =D

Been that way since gen 2 of the game came out, and hasn't changed much since then (although I might break tradition and not start with the barbeque pork for the next game, seeing as the fire type actually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to evo looks. The water starter starts out looking stupid, but ends up pretty sweet, and the grass isn't far behind.) Depends what skills they get, really.

I may be going against my fellow Electric types here, but I gotta say Psychic.

I like Dark and Dragon types myself, namely because I like most of the pokemon with that typing, like Houndoom, Absol and Mightyena for dark type, and Dragonite and Palkia for the Dragon types.

Definitely the Dark type.

I like the Fighting type as well.

There are a lot of Normal types that I find ironicly very odd and funny looking, Snorelax, Blissy, Skitty, Bidoof, etc. That is why I like normal types the most....

My personal battle cry for the first-gen was "All hale the Snorelax!"

I really think that Nintendo needs to make more Dark/Ice types, besides Sneasel and Weavile.

I know this is ludicrous, but I'd LOVE to have a Dark/Psychic type. It's a contradiction, I know. I still think it's be pretty awesome.

This was very hard to choose, I love Lugia yet my two favorate types are fire and Dragon (flying comes next).

Normal is my number one favorite type. For one it's a very versatile type. Many normal type pokemon can learn moves from a wide array of other types (Ratatta being one example) and although they are fiendishly weak against fighting types, cannot damage ghost type, and are only half effective against steel, and rock types they are still very nice team filler if you can't figure out what you want that 6th pokemon to be.

Another reason is that, aside from being cute, most normal types can be incredibly sexy without even anthropomorphism. Lopunny, Miltank, and Tauros are great examples of this.
