The Lake Map

The Lake Map
I've wanted to do this for some time now but never got round to it.
Every time I've imagined the HPF lake I always imagined the same thing, a huge blue lake, almost a mile across, in the middle of two mountains.
A waterfall,
A small island to the north east,
A river running out of it to the south,
A sandy desert to the far north east.
And so I drew a map.

The mountain to the north is the taller of the two and is always covered in snow, the meltwater ensures that there is always clean fresh water running over the waterfall.
The mountain to the east is much smaller and is actually a dormant volcano, it heats the ground and the lake and ensures that there is always fertile soil for the trees to grow.
This results in, from mid-day to the middle of the night, the lake being the perfect temperature to swim in.
To the north east of the lake is the start of a large desert known for its stunning views and its abundant oases.
To the north west of the lake is a deep pool carved out by the waterfall, it runs under the mountain itself offering shade and tranquility, despite its depth the water is always so clear it's possible to see right to the bottom.
Also to the north west is a grassy verge, it's comfortable to sit on and perfect for having a picnic or a get-together or both or anything really.
The south and south west of the lake is surrounded by a thick forest but to the south west is a large clearing, which provides another gathering point.
To the south east the trees grow tall due to the volcano resulting in a tropical jungle to explore.
And finally (Am I sounding like a travel agent yet?) there is also a small island in the middle of the lake, the water is shallow and very warm here, it's possible to wade to it from the north east bank.
That is my view on the lake.
Note: The map isn't finished entirely yet, I'll post more pictures as I draw them.
Please do say if you imagined anything different.

Re: The Lake Map
this is actually pretty good! the only difference from what I've thought would be the river which would run towards the west instead of south. I'd like to see your opinions on the land in general... I always thought the place was an island off of the maps of the pokemon regions.
