Database Hacked/Destroyed on 10/31/10, 9:28 PM CST

For the sake of everyone here on HPF, I'll make this as brief as possible. The bad news is that we seem to have just lost two days worth of information thanks to a hacking into the founders' account that enabled this person to opt to delete the board entirely. For that, I sincerely apologize. The good news is that this is our worst case scenario, seeing as backups are constantly refreshed back to two days from now. Sysadmin passwords and information has been changed, and I am looking into options for lockout upon too many password attempts. Rest assured, I'm taking every precaution to make sure this is the worst case scenario if this ever happens again.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO THIS PLACE ON MY WATCH. I hope this proves to all of you my level of commitment here. I'm only sorry I couldn't do more. I'll address any concerns you wish to submit here as best as I can and will reset passwords as requested, if it comes to that. If I ever get my hands on the scumbag that did this... *gnashes his teeth*

Why that dirty little troll, if I ever get a few fingers on him, I'll cave him in deeper than any sinkhole you've ever seen. I swear, people these days. Guan, if you need help trying to catch the guy, ask around, some people know how to catch these trolls... *shudders* Dont feed him you know.

If I find out who hacked this amazing website, I'll beat 'em so bad they won't be able to remember which way is up!

Knowing Murphy's law, any sort of retaliation would be just like .... well.... trying to put out a fire with more fire.

Unless it was 4chan, in that case retaliation would feed the trolls and and paint a large bullseye on our collective edible rear ends.

Hacking a site like this doesn't seem like it would be 4chan's thing. Their /vp/ section has vore threads on a regular basis. They get far less backlash than the straight-up furry threads and many other types of things that seem to draw their scorn.

Just because /vp/ wouldn't do it doesn't mean that /v/ or /b/ won't do it either. Or a board on another *chan.

So as to keep any more baseless accusations and speculation to a minimum, it might interest you all to know that I've managed to trace the culprit via IP tracking and have dealt with the threat on a broad-spectrum basis. Sorry to disappoint anyone expecting a flashy or spectacular act of vengeance as a response; such inanity isn't warranted over simply keeping my forum members safe at this time. For the sake of flame retardant and security, I will not reveal any names or addresses here, so don't bother asking. Just...trust me on this one, please. Thanks.
