Post by AaronScales on January 26th 2011, 1:57 pm

Re: Pokemonic careers?

Post by foxyumbreon on January 26th 2011, 6:14 pm

The stuff in the following sections are not necessarily listed in chronological order. I tried to go for both chronology, and a bit more of categorized organization.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Video games:

I've owned, and beaten the following mainstream versions at least once: Red, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Emerald, Fire Red, Diamond, Platinum, Soul Silver. Only ones amongst those I still own are Yellow, Crystal, and Platinum. I plan on getting rid of Yellow and Crystal though probably soon. And I'll likely be selling Platinum as well once I get one of the new versions, and have gotten any important stuff in my Platinum game traded over.

Yellow and Crystal are the only ones I've owned out of term, so to speak. Those I didn't get until just a few years ago when I bought them on eBay for the sake of finally getting to play through the special edition versions of those gens (though I had played through a rom of Yellow way back in the day).

In addition to what's mentioned above, I've also owned Pearl version, but never really played it much. I believe there was also a short time when I owned Blue, having the same results as Pearl.

Though I've never owned either of the games, I have played Pokemon Pinball, and the Pokemon Trading Card Game video game through use of roms a very long time ago.

I've played both Stadium games a lot, and have cleared all of the "story" events in those games. I never owned the very first one, but I had rented it before. I believe I've owned the 2nd one before, but I can't recall for sure anymore.

I've owned and completed Pokemon Snap (original cartridge).

I've beaten, and presently still own, Pokemon Puzzle League (original cartridge). I think there are still some challenges (can't remember the exact name of the mode) I still haven't cleared though, but I have played through the story mode on every difficulty.

I've owned and beaten both Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon XD.

I own, and have beaten, the story mode of Pokemon Trozei.

In the Mystery Dungeon series, I've owned and have beaten Blue Rescue Team, and Explorers of Time. I currently own, and am in the midst of a save file in, Explorers of Sky. I also owned Explorers of Darkness for a short time because I read I needed it for the item to evolve an eevee into an umbreon in Explorers of Time.

I've owned, and have beaten, the first two Ranger games. I am yet to obtain or play the third, but intend on doing so eventually.

I own Pokemon Battle Revolution. I've cleared the main "story", but haven't cleared all of the challenges beyond that point.

I own, and have beaten, Pokemon Rumble.

I own, and have beaten, PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure.

Since it seems from the other posts we're counting Smash Bros. games, I've owned and have played for countless hours all three of them. The only one I still presently own though is Brawl. In every Smash Bros. game, I've always (by utter coincidence) found myself good at using every pokemon character.

In Smash Bros. games, my friends, brother, and I would at times come up with sports (such as baseball), or other fun ways to play the game, to freshen things up a bit. Amongst those gameplay ideas we came up with was one I did a lot with my brother we dubbed Pokemon Battles. We would each have to play as Ness, and would turn items on high with only pokeballs. The game would be played at one of the more plain stages. We would wait for the pokeballs to appear, and then each grab one. After doing so, and getting to opposite sides of the stage, we would each call out, "Pokeball, go!" and throw our pokeballs at each other. The pokeballs would collide at around the center of the stage, and then the pokemon would come out. After that point, we would have to just stand there and take the hits, if any, from the opposing pokemon. The only resistance we could use was doing what we could to stay on the stage when put in danger of being knocked out. Once both pokemon expired, we would go again, and keep it up until somebody won the match by depleting the stock of the other player.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Anime:
I've been watching the anime pretty much since day two. I caught my brother watching the show while I was on the computer, and took an interest in it. There was a period during the first season when I got out of the show for a while, but then later got back into it around the start of the second season. I have since seen all (or at least most) of the episodes I missed during that time of absence. I've also seen all of the movies that have been released here in America.

As far as owning the anime goes, I own the box sets that were released a few years back for the Indigo League, and the Orange Islands. I also own all of the movies that have been released up to this point (except for perhaps the Arceus movie, since I'm not sure if that one is out quite yet or not).

The Pokemon anime is very important to me. A series of events centering around it (relating to my temporary falling out I mentioned above) have played a large role in who I am today, and I couldn't be more grateful. Even if for whatever reason I one day lose interest in Pokemon, it will still always hold a very special place in my heart thanks to what it's done for me.
-------------------------------------------------------
Manga:
I've read, and have been borrowing for many years now from a friend (I don't even think he wants them back, to be honest) the four Pikachu Shocks Back volumes.

I own all volumes of Pokemon Adventures that have been released so far here in America. I haven't started reading them yet, though I have skimmed through them a bit to get an idea of what they're all about. I don't plan on reading them until the earlier volumes that are being released in junction with the Diamond and Pearl volumes reach up to the starting point of the Diamond and Pearl volumes. That way I'll have a good chunk of books to read before I would have to worry about pausing from reading while I wait for the next volume to release. Even more so since I plan on reading them at a very gradual pace (probably only one or two chapters a week).

I own, and have read, the manga entitled Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TCG:
I used to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game back when it first came out. I remember how easy it was to learn because a friend of mine bought a couple starter decks and learned how to play while we were spending the day at a Wizards of the Coast store. On the drive home, he taught me how to play while we were in the car. I eventually grew tired of the game though, and quit playing.

A few years ago, I decided to make a deck during a period of wanting to have at least one deck for every card game I've ever played, including those I no longer like. The idea was to have decks of such games available, just in case I do feel like playing a match again (which I very rarely do), or if I were to meet somebody who plays one of those games, and we just happen to have nothing better to do at any particular time. The deck I made was an eeveelution deck, because since I didn't care enough to try really hard to make a good deck, I decided it would be more fun to use a deck that utilized a theme I love. The deck still exists, sitting in a drawer with the rest of my TCG decks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Other:
I own a board game titled Pokemon Master Trainer Game.

I own a Groudon figure. This was a random purchase I made back when we would have an action figure war during every birthday of a certain friend of mine. It had unintentionally become a tradition where we would play out a war with his action figures after making our own teams from them. That year though, I decided I wanted to have my own figures for use in my team in the war. The aforementioned figure was purchased for that occasion. It now rests in my china cabinet.

I have an eeveelution collection I've been building up casually. I have various merchandise relating to eevee and its evolutions including, but not limited to, figures, towels, plushies, and coasters.

For a very short while I tried out that Pokemon Next Quest game (I think that's what it was called), but never really got going into it.
------------------------------------------------------------
That should be everything, excluding self made things like Fanfics and Voremon.

  • Mystery Dungeon - Time: Beat Primal Dialga; evolved my starters(Jordan the Feraligatr + Pat the Typhlosion); beat Darkrai; recruited Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, and Groudon; I'd have to check, but I think I'm Hyper Rank?

  • HeartGold: my main game; 16 badges; got all Gym Leaders' numbers; beat Red; Caught Suicune, Arti, Zapdos, Moltres, Ho-Oh, Latios, Latias; I have a competitive team, albeit a mediocre one, and I'm 11-15)
  • SoulSilver: I've barely started on this, but Elm's called about the break-in.

  • Black: my main IsshUnova* version; waiting for it...
  • White: my IsshUnova* alt game; waiting for it...

I haven't owned very many Pokemon games, but here they are.

Pokemon Yellow: Beat most of it

Pokemon Ruby: Beat it at least 4 times

Pokemon Sapphire: Beat at least twice

Pokemon Emerald: My favorite of all time, beat it about 10 times, I have a killer team

Pokemon Fire Red: Egh. I was stuck on the elite four for a VERY long time. But I just recently beat it.

Pokemon Diamond: Beat it, I have a complete Pokedex

Pokemon Platinum: Beat it, I have a lot of good Pokes

Pokemon Soul Silver: Tied with Emerald for my favorite. Beat everything. I didn't get Latias from the event, sadly. Caught all other Legendaries possible.

Pokemon Heart Gold: I bought a used one, planning to delete the data, but whoever owned it before me and caught a load of Legendaries, some from other games

Pokemon Black: Haven't played yet, but I played a Rom, and it's awesome. I also have the Fateful Encounter Raikou and Entei to transfer to this game, and I'm planning on getting the Fateful Encounter Suicine as well.

Pokemon Ranger, Shadows of Almia: Completed all missions, bonus missions, and completed my browser, including Celebi.

Pokemon Snap: Almost beat it, I can't even remember where I'm at.

I've watched all of the Anime episodes to date.

Oh well. I half expected that to end up being the case. I just couldn't help but be thorough because of how big a part of my life Pokemon has been.

Re: Pokemonic careers?

Post by Dog In Da Grass on February 3rd 2011, 4:02 pm

Videogames:
I started out at pokemon red, I had no clue about pokemon at this time and this is the game that hooked me on the series.

then pokeman yellow came out and It was alright, though that pikachu was annoying so I traded him over to my red, used a thunder stone so I could evolve him then traded him back to my yellow. Then I used some cheats and wound up stuck at the top floor of the poke-center with no excape possible *sadface*

Next was silver, I was very excited when I got it and had lots of fun playing it. Cloneing your strongest pokemon ftw.
but anyways when I re-played it a few years back (Withought cheats) I beat up the e4 within 18 hours and the rest of the game in 22 hours.

then gold and crystal both got re-started a few times, not sure if I beat either

ZOMG!!! Pokemon puzzle challenge! rented it from blockbuster, got addicted, bought it, got MOAR addicted! I eventually struggled through the intense mode and beat it and now I am a pwnfull beast at that game.

Supper Smash Bros. Mele (If this should count for pokemon stuff *lols*) My best was peach then went to kirby then went to ice climbers and is now roy and yoshi (but I do like playing as Pichu)

then came gen3 I got very stoked for these games and couldn't wait for them to come out. this has been my favorite generation so far.

Sapphire was the one I gotted first I played though it and loved every moment of it. and this was the game where I got my first lv 100 Pokemon (my kyogre). I've played 379 hours on it before I wound up sucking the life out of it with my soul silver, platinum, and diamond.

Ruby, I got this to go along with my sapphire a month or so after I beat sapph. I restarted this game 5-10 times and I am not sure how many times I beat it (probably around 4 or 5)

then the pokemon Colosseum games
the first was was lots of fun! I played through it multiple times and is a great way to level up 3rd gen pokemon

colesseum xd was great as well. My most recent playthrough of this game included me overpowering my espeon and mightyena through the mt battle then dominating the main story.

I next got pokemon mystery dungeon blue and It was amaizing! It was just like the kind of stuff I used to play pretend with my friend way back when I was a wee tyke! I started as squirtle and it was funz! then I restarted mah game so I could play as eevee and I named him Duke and joaked that everything was eating him! (I soon came up with the Idea for my team wolf fang series) I compleatly beat the game and nearly maxed out Duke's stats.

4th gen, meh only seemed like a few were good, I dindnt get as excited but I was still greatfull for moar pokemons

I gotted the Diamond and I started with Piplup, bout half way through the story I ditched my Empoleon for my Luxray I had been training up. *lols* and after I beat it... I had no idea that Giratena was in the game.
So anyways, I was playing my game at night, In my dark room, with headphones on. I was wallking down towards the sunnyshore resort when I noticed a path that I had never seen before, and I was all liek "Zo my goodness I don't remember this being here. So I walk into the path and saw a cave and went in. ... It was called 'Turnback Cave' and I was all liek "awh shiz!" so I wander around in that cave a bit. I eventually find a big pokeman standing there so I talked with it. the battle began and it was like "GGGWRRRAAAAAA!!!!" right into my ear. and of course the first move it used was shadowforce so on the first turn 'It vanished instantly' and that freaked me out as this is the kind of shit that goes on in my dreams at times. Giratina can be very scary at times.

this is the time when I restarted my pokemon blue rescue team game and started work on team wolf fang! It started out by just a simple test video with duke fighting zapdos (vorish stuff) and it was a big hit! I soon then started with the series and It was very good stuff.

then I got recruited over here *coughs* eh... when I was 16ish

then stuff came up (mainly my banishment and thought that I would be recruiting others for voices) and I took a 3-year-hiatus from Team Wolf Fang

then I got platinum and started with a Starly for the heck of it, named him Fourthmeal |3 that was fun, so then when I caught Giratina I named him Dreamscape in homage to what happened in my diamond version.

got banned from hpf (underage)

got unbaned from hpf

Pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of time : beat it, really fun and great storyline
explorers of sky: still working on the afterstory

Soul Silver yay! I loves this game! I've logged 313 hours on the game so far. I've made lots of teams and have competed with them (placing 2nd here on the tourney of hpf)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
other stuffs:
Anime: I watched all of it up to orange islands then got uninterested then recently got back into it throughout the sinno league. though I have watched a few episodes of all the imbetween episodes and all the movies that have reached usa.
TCG: I started when I was young but that was only collecting then I stopped.
I got back into the tcg with majestic dawn and the Leafeon-Glaceon theme decks so I hads to go out and get them and I combined them awesomely. then I went to a California state fair and got the rest of the eeveelutions (though they wound up being fakes! |C ) so then I didn't get any cards for a while. I got back in with Undaunted with the Espeon-Umbreon decks. Then I started going to leagues, I used my eevee deck and it is strong enough to compete in tournaments. and now I am going to league every saterday and enjoying playing the card game with others.
Manga: it is great and epic! nuff said. pokemon do in fact, die!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*looks up at my post*

Re: Pokemonic careers?

Post by Sapphire Takaishi on February 9th 2011, 7:25 pm

I've been playing Pokémon ever since it first came to the US. I got into it right away. I was in eighth grade.

I have a ton of cards, but only from the first set. I don't have any of the newer cards.

I only watched the first season, the Indigo League, and the latest movie I have is the eighth one. Haven't seen it yet.

For games, I have a lot of them. I have every main series game, and lots of others.

Red: First one I had, with Blue. Played it quite a bit.

Blue: I have a level 100 Missingno. that I caught at level 80. Knows Psychic, Sky Attack, Fly, and Water Gun. That might also be the same version that has a Khangaskhan that evolved from M. Name is Mystra. Moves are Dizzy Punch, Sky Attack, Fly, and Bite. When I did this with Pokémon Stadium 2, I made sure not to look at my Missingno with it, or it would of turned into a Ditto.

Yellow: Played a bit. Interesting game back then. The Pikachu was amusing at times.

Pinball: Fun, tricky, but fun.

TCG: Card game for the GameBoy. Interesting. Made a lot of decks.

Stadium 1: First game for the N64. I think I got to the second part of it or so... not sure if I beat Mewtwo for the second time.

Stadium 2: Good, bit better than the first one. Minigames are fun to play with your own Pokémon. My Charizard on Blue ended up being female when I used it with Stadium 2. XP

Gold: Started with Totodile. Fun. Better than Red, Blue, and Yellow. Only shiny I had was the Red Gyarados.

Silver: Started with Cyndaquil. Also good, and the Red Gyarados was the only shiny I had there as well.

Crystal: This one was unstable. First time, started with Cyndaquil. Caught a shiny Rhyhorn and evolved it, but the file got deleted on its own. Second time, started with Totodile. Didn't get far before that file was gone. Might of been the transfer pack for Stadium 2, but I have no idea. Third time, started with a female Chikorita. Completed the dex, and traded with someone for Mew and Celebi, but one of those I traded ended up being the Red Gyarados. Don't know if I still have that file. Not going to check.

Ruby: Started with Torchic. Good game, have a Shedinja named Mystery as it's in a Timer ball, which is what I caught the Nincada with.

Sapphire: Very lucky game. Four shinies seen, three owned. Started with Mudkip. Six level 100s, Articuno from XD, Zapdos from Fire Red, Moltres from XD, Kyogre caught on own version, Flygon from Colosseum, and Mewtwo from Fire Red, same version as the Zapdos. All six helped me win second place in the Journey Across America tournament in 2006. It actually came to Albuquerque. I registered for it online exactly a month before. I was the only one with a GBA, the rest had GBA SPs, the only one where I was a girl in my game, and the only one with Sapphire. The rest had Emerald, though one might of had another game. First time they had two girls as the finalists. I was 19, and beat guys twice my age. XP Big guys who thought I would be a pushover. I sure surprised them. Hehe. I had a lot of fun. First shiny, a level 50 female Exploud named Shiny, caught as a Whismur in Rusturf Tunnel. Second one, a level... 31 I think, female Tentacool named Aqua, caught on the way to Sky Pillar to train for the tournament. Third one, a level... 54 I think, male Sableye named Copper, caught at the pillar. Saw a shiny female Golbat, while training, only had four Poké balls so I ran out of them and couldn't catch it. Shame. Eh, oh well. Completed the National Dex. Celebi was gotten at the event, Mew was the last one needed, gotten at a Toys R Us event held later. Some people recognized me from the tournament.

Emerald: Started with Treecko. Good, Battle Frontier was hard, mainly the one where your Pokémon have to pick their own moves. Got two Pokémon from the event on there, male Blaziken, female Typhlosion. Color of the name of the trainer matches the gender for both of them. Good game.

Pinball Ruby/Sapphire: Better than the first one. Good, very good. Tricky, but good.

FireRed: Started with Charmander. Good, updated version of Red. Several traded from it.

LeafGreen: Done two different files. First one, started with Squirtle. Was good, traded over lots to FireRed before starting over, including starter. Second file, started with Bulbasaur. Good, party level 55. Female Marowak with Thick Club. One shiny, level 54 female Primeape named Fury. Caught at Cerulean Cave. Third Pokémon to show up while training.

Colosseum: First game for the GameCube. Trainer has my name. Not sure why I did that though. Now I would of gone with Wes. Heh. Some Pokémon were traded from there to Sapphire, including the Espeon and Umbreon, then I eventually started over on it.

XD: Better than Colosseum. Trainer name was one of the defaults. Eevee was made Jolteon. Some were traded from there to Sapphire, including the Lugia.

Pokémon Box Ruby/Sapphire: Storage game. Good. Egg was Swablu with False Swipe, for both Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokémon channel: Interesting game. Part I liked with using the Smeargle painter, mainly for the images shown between shows after I was able to use it outside of the Pichu Bros. show.

Mystery Dungeon Red team: Was Charmander, partner Totodile. Was good. Beat it, me and partner evolved.

Mystery Dungeon Blue team: Was Torchic, partner Chikorita. Didn't get far before quitting.

Diamond: Started with Chimchar. Very good, still used for the events. Got the shiny trio from Johto. Shiny Pichu gotten at an event was traded to Soul Silver. Same for the Arceus. Still have the Shaymin. Shiny Suicune on it will be transfered to Black. Migrated Pokémon from several games. First migrate from... FireRed? Mewtwo was with the first migrate. Sapphire was used for migrating too, and Emerald.

Pearl: Started with female Turtwig. Got female starter on purpose. Still used for the events. Got the shiny trio from Johto. Shiny Pichu from event traded to Heart Gold. Same for the Arceus. The Shaymin was traded to Platinum. Shiny Suicune will be transfered to White. Migrated Pokémon from some games. Ruby might of been used for here, maybe.

Platinum: Started with Piplup. Currently the game with the highest level for main party. Level 71. Main team is Empoleon, Luxray, bred with Ice Fang and Fire Fang, Scyther, Giratina in Origin Forme, Leafeon, and Houndoom. Another Houndoom at level 70 in box. Leafeon is female. Shaymin is level 70, traded at level 50 from Pearl. Has Air Slash, Magical Leaf, Earth Power, and Seed Flare. Level 66 Lucario is female. Really surprised me when the egg hatched. Two Raikou, two Entei, two Suicune. One set shiny, from the events, the other migrated from Sapphire. Still have Shiny Pichu.

Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time: Was Meowth, partner Turtwig. Team Poképals. Is good. 100 for me, fully evolved. Partner fully evolved, in the... 80s I think.

Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness: Was Cyndaquil, partner Chikorita. Team Johto. Now fully evolved, level 100. Good game. Still trying for Mewtwo.

Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky: Was Eevee, patner Vulpix. Team Kanto. Fully evolved, level 100. I picked Jolteon due to the ranges of moves learned. Third team member is Mewtwo. Also level 100. Better than the first two Dungeon games. Done all the special episodes. Got challenges from the Johto trio.

Heart Gold: Started with Totodile. Raikou and Entei were caught before the league. Team in high 50s, starter and Scyther are 61. Main game, taking a break from it to play Soul Silver. Trade for Groudon from Soul Silver to get Rayquaza will happen sometime. Giratina gotten with the Arceus.

Soul Silver: Started with Cyndaquil. Main game played now. Six shines, the Pichu from Diamond, the trio from the events, the Red Gyarados, and a Tentacool caught in Union Cave on the way to get Lapras. Level 11 male, named Jellyfish. Came with Poison Barb. (Some of you might remember it as I said I got it on the chat, as I was playing it while on the chat. XP) Second Tentacool out of all the shines gotten for all my games. Team in the 50s, starter 55. Trade for Kyogre from Heart Gold will happen sometime. Will do with this game first, then Heart Gold. Dialga gotten with the Arceus.

Black: Will get when it comes out, starter will be Oshawott. Got a team in mind.

White: Will get when it comes out, starter will be Snivy. Got a team in mind, but need to think of a good fire type.

If a third game comes out, Tepig will be chosen. I think Emboar is ugly and I'm not real sure on the fire starter line for this gen. Same typing for the third gen in a row.

Whoo. Really long history with games. My Sapphire version is the luckiest.

Other news: I joined here in 2008, one of the first members, and a lot of you might remember that incident with the stupid Net Nanny thing... bleh. So glad it's been gone for a while. Never again. I hated it so much.

From what I heard, Nintendo is going to make a Pokemon Gray Version, just basically a mix of the two games just as Emerald and Platinum were.

Yeah, they always gotta make those special editions. And even knowing this, I (along with so many others) still buy the first versions that get released. I myself still do so for two reasons.
1: Because I just get too psyched each new gen to wait.
2: I actually really enjoy playing through the special edition after playing the original to experience the differences, rather than going in and playing the special edition without being able to have that comparison.
