I have a question about Gen V...
Okay, everyone here's heard about Zoroark from various sources. I DO have one question regarding it however...
Zoroark's ability... Illusion, takes the form, gender, and shinyness from the last pokemon in your party.. However the change is only aesthetic. But still.. I don't want to battle with my Zoroark looking like the last pokemon in my party. And honestly, I don't want to carry around two Zoroarks.. Does anyone know if the ability can be toggled? Or is active in EVERY battle?

I'm not sure about that, but you have to look beyond looks and think of strategy.
What if you were to make it look like a machop? The enemy would use psychic moves on it, unable to figure out why they're not working . . .

Lol. From what I heard, the name still says 'Zoroark' doesn't it?

According to the bulbapedia article, Illusion is only active until you take damage in a battle, then it 'breaks' and you get your Zoroark back :3
If you don't want to have Illusion at all, then you'll have to put Zoroark at the bottom of your party list, thereby having no pokemon below it to create an illusion of :3

From what I've studied about Zoroarks, the Illusion ability takes on, the shape of your last partied Pokemon, including Nickname/Names of that Pokemon.. Even while Illusioned, it'll keep its own Stats, moves and type, so nothing to worry about there.. And as Dio stated, the illusion breaks once the Zoroark/Zorua takes battle damage.. Damage does NOT include fron things like: Life Orb, Take Down, Double Edge or Substitute.. Take it from a Zoroark to know one.. ;3
Oh, and Dio, even if you place Zoroark/Zorua in the last slot of your team, something's gotta take its place when you switch it out.. ;P

Oooh, I see, I thought the ability made Zoroark take on the appearance of the pokemon directly below it, rather than the last partied pokemon. My mistake~ :3 Although I imagine that would make for some oddities in battle; for instance, pulling out a heavily damaged pokemon from battle, just to throw a last party Zoroark out there, thereby making it look like you've thrown exactly the same 'mon back out into battle xD

Yeah it'd take a bit of strategy to acutally trick someone into not knowing it's a Zoroark, much like the TF2 spy who has the ability to do something identical.
I have actually got my own questions about it: Does the ability copy the health bar of the illusioned pokémon?
Such as if the last pokémon in your party is badly damaged, and zoroark is sent out, does the opponant see that its health is in the red or do they see the actual (green) health bar of the zoroark?
Does the illusion break when you use an attack?
Such as a Floatzel uses Night Burst. Does the illusion break or does it stay and just appear that a floatzel used it.

Re: I have a question about Gen V...
Well, I would like to think that the health bar stays full if Zoroark is sent out, but I'm not all to sure about it.. And from my understanding of the Illusion ability, any attack used will keep Zoroark covered by the Illusion ability, until its maimed by an attack by the opponent(excluding stats condition, I believe..)

Re: I have a question about Gen V...
Actually Zoroark has low stats in defence, special defence and Hp which is why Illusion is always used, the point is that you bring Zoroark out with him taking on a look of another pokemon as to sneakily get some hits on them before they start realising whats going on and attack your pokemon. To not use his illusion makes him much less useful as this is his signature ability (And only ability) and actually should be used at all times and never discarded in battle.

Re: I have a question about Gen V...
I see Zoroark's ability as a good anti-lead, stats and attacks that it can learn are perfect for the job.. From Taunt to Foul Play, Zoroark's move pool is going to be good for anti leading due to its speed as well.. x3
