General Forum Rules **IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ**

Post by Charem on Mon 9 Jun - 13:51

I'm not a big fan of long and detailed rules descriptions...I don't think anybody reads those anyways. And I don't like to make everyone feel like they're walking on eggshells...we're all here to have a good time, right? So I'm going to keep it simple, but explanatory.

---------

  1. Respect the admin/moderators! It's pretty simple...we're trying our best here to keep a good forum. If we do something you don't like, then just calmly PM us about it.

  2. Respect the opinions and feelings of the other users. I feel respect is the most important thing to keeping a forum running smoothly. Don't flame/troll or say something intended to make somebody mad, especially when it comes to religious or controversial topics. Likewise, if somebody says something you don't like, ignore it. If it's something that's against the rules, report it to me or one of the moderators, then leave it alone. Topics will be locked down if fights break out in them.

  3. Do not discuss illegal topics. Please don't talk about keygens, making explosives, where to get video game ROMs, etc. And especially, DO NOT PROVIDE LINKS OR GRAPHIC IMAGES/VIDEOS. We don't want this forum to be closed over legal problems. This doesn't mean that adult artwork involving Pokémon and/or vore is prohibited, although we ask that you at least provide tags in your thread or post.

  4. Do not spam. This includes multiple (pointless) posting in a topic, as well as advertising other forums, websites, businesses, etc (unless you received permission to do so first).

  5. Do not necropost. If a thread hasn't received a reply for a long time (i.e. About six months), chances are that the thread is closed, especially if it's something like an art request thread or a forum game. Unless you are contributing to the thread in some way, the general rule of thumb is simple: Don't resurrect it. If you're not sure, ask a moderator.

  6. Do not create multiple accounts. Everybody here has one account, and one account should be enough for everybody. I understand that you might have multiple characters, but you can keep them under one username. No need to add confusion to the memberlist.

  7. Keep cussing to a minimum. This is an adult forum so I'm not going to ban it, but don't do it constantly, especially if it could anger other users.

  8. Keep the clean forums clean. Once again, this is an adult forum, but a couple sections are meant to be kept clean. These are the 'General Pokémon Discussion' forum and the 'General RPs' forum.

  9. Keep avatars PG! Because of how easy it is to see a person's avatar, please keep them PG.

  10. Provide fair warning before discussing 'extreme' topics. (This includes hard vore, scat, etc.) If making a new topic, warn in the topic's title. If making a post in a topic, warn at the top of your post. I know it's very subjective what's extreme or not...if you're unsure, just put up a warning anyways. (Better safe than sorry!) Lastly -- if your topic is deleted, it may be that it was just too extreme or controversial to be existing on this forum. This won't happen much, as we're pretty accepting here, but sometimes it will...it just happens. No hard feelings, okay?

  11. Be sensible about your profile design. This is very general, but here's a few examples. Don't make unnecessarily long signatures that cause your posts to stretch way down the page. Don't put gigantic banners in your signature, especially those that stretch the entire topic past the right side of the screen. Don't make your text a weird, hard to see color. There's countless more examples, but basically, just use common sense.

  12. Do not access the forums from public locations. As has already been stated several times, this is an adult website. Accessing HPF from public places like libraries, high schools, etc. instead of your own PC, can easily open the curious eyes of minors to our location, thus allowing staff and webmasters of these locations to easily make a case for shutting us down. If this cannot be respected, we will start seeking more aggressive methods of having our domain blocked from public servers, though I'd rather not resort to that.

  13. Respect the unwritten rules. I'm not perfect. A situation may indeed arise which isn't covered by the aforementioned rules, and I'm sorry if it does. Basically, if I or the moderators respond to something that is not listed on the rules, please don't go to us saying "But I wasn't breaking any rule!". We're sorry if it happens -- and hopefully it won't -- but do understand that the rules will be updated if such occurs. We won't punish you if something like this happens, we'll just let you know not to do it again.
---------

Breaking a rule will get you anything from a warning to a suspension to an account deletion, depending on the severity of the offense and how many times you've broken the rule. Don't feel too scared, though...warnings are more or less just to let you know, and I should hope I never have to suspend or ban anybody, unless they're being complete jerks.

Oh, I forgot one rule...

13. Have fun. :3 Because that's what's important here!
