Character question

Post by Wargle on Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:49 am

NO IDEA where to post this so I used my best judgement.

So yeah. Anybody often create characters of opposite gender to yourself? I tend to create MUCH more male than female characters and I was wondering just how unusual that is.

it's not as unusual as you may think most of my characters are female based or are gender shifters

I have male, female, herm and even genderless characters. This is just the one most suited to who I am and I can get into character so much easier.

For the full list of my characters umm...since the addition of about 60~70 characters from someone who was going to delete them all, I have over 100. So I can try scrounge up a list someday...when not busy with RP's or other things.

I do have two characters, one male (Shade, an umbrai) and one female (Espeon, an...espeon), but I rarely use the Espeon character. She's more of a pred character, and I'm not really into pred.

Heh...I like to be prey OOCly, but love Eons too much to allow it as a rule.

I have three active characters, and a lot of inactive characters. My other two active characters are male, and they're both hybrids, with one being a taur. I can play a male rather well. (It should also be mentioned that all my other characters are siblings to my main one, except for one inactive character, who's mated to one of them.)

All my characters are female. I'm not sure why but I can play a female better than a male...

Re: Character question

Post by Magetorment on Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:43 am

Well as an aspiring author I have a very extensive cast of characters, this of course means I've got a bunch of female characters. With that said I feel as though I should point two things out. First of all yes, I do have noticably more males than females. You can blame that on the society I was raised in, the standards set by the my insperations, or the fact that I'm male. Second I don't use these characters in yiffy settings. This is because I'm male, I don't know the ins and outs of female anatomy enough to know what makes them feel good. I've got a few ideas but it's my experience that there is a noticable difference between a dude rping a chick in yiff than a real chick. (Also it's my beliefe that females can play males better than males can play females simply because male anatomy is a hell of a lot easier to figure out.)

tl;dr:
Yes I have girl characters, no they don't yiff.

Also since last count my character count was 150+ with the pokemon ones exceeding 40.

Creating characters is easy. Giving them all different personalities and beliefs and maintaining it completely is the hard task. And the ones I got from my friend, I have yet to figure them out fully yet. I didn't get to interact with them all in RP's. Some were...too dangerous for that.

I hardly ever do female characters; usually my main characters are representations of myself so it would make sense they're the same gender.

I do have a third character, but I haven't used her yet (and probably won't).

A very young (truly innocent) Absol. She sees Shade and Espeon as her brother and sister, even though they aren't really related. She will do anything for her family.

But she's way too innocent for voring/unbirthing/etc, so that's why I never use her :3

My main RP characters, like myself, are males. (Chance and Travante)
except for one other (Eevelion *I dont think I spelled that character's name right, and I created him in the first place! XD*), all the others are Females, and one of 'em is a Latias.

I've created one female character, but I only made her a female because having her as a male simply wouldn't work for her personality and what I designed her to do.
