Is There A Specific Pokemon You Would Love To See Evolve In The Next Generation?
I've thought about this a lot myself. Sometimes I'll consider certain pokemon that I feel really should have an evolution given to them to make them a bit more useful in battle. I'm not asking for a big list from anybody, since there are a good number of pokemon that could use an evolution in my opinion. I'm just curious what single pokemon various people would pick if they could choose just one pokemon to be given an evolution, whether it be because it's a pokemon you really like, or because you feel it would have potential if it could evolve due to its moveset, or some other reason. And please, don't go listing pokemon that already have 3 stages, as that seems like it's going to be sticking to being the maximum at this rate. Of course, branch evolutions would be fine. If I were to choose one, I think I would have to go with male Combee. I just think it's really stupid that Combee can't evolve unless it's a female, especially since it's so useless before it evolves. Sure it's got the Honey Gather ability, but that's not going to help it win any battles. And while its weakness can be easily gotten around by just catching a female one, that just makes it more frustrating than anything I would have to say. Unless you want to specifically breed them together for some reason, I just feel that encountering a male Combee is just a big slap in the face as things stand. Sorry if that sounded a bit ranty, but I just wanted to explain the reasoning for my choice.

I agree with the uselessness of a male Combee. As for a Pokemon I'd like to see evolve in the next generation, I'd like to finally see a pre-evolution for Kangaskhan.

1st of all, I personally doubt that there will be a next generation, but if there is, Pokemon who have 2 stages and have stayed the same since the beginning would be the best. Ex. Golduck, Venamoth, Cloyster, Dewgong

Any particular reason why you doubt it? I mean, they would of course have to stop eventually. I'm just wondering.

Well, considering they've released Arceus, the God of all Pokemon, I don't know how they could top it. Just seems like the next movie will be the last.
And a Ninetails evol would be great. Hmmm... Twentytails has a nice ring to it. =p

How about Lucario evolves? Thatd be interesting to see. As for the Arceus bit, Zeus is the king of the godfs, but there were still the titans that came before him. Such as his father Kronos. And HIS father, Oranos. They should still have plenty of things left. Besides Japanese lore has multiple gods anyways.

Choices are rather limited because other than Eevee the trend has been pokemon of an elemental nature.

Eevee always has new evolutions in the new games, its always been a fact.
I wont mind having an evolved form for Mightyena or Houndoom, but worried that they would be plain ugly and all. Absol sorta needs an evolved form too but same worries as the others.

An evolved form of Lopunny? Wow... what the hell would that look like? That could very well be murr.
I gave this some thought, and aside from the already mentioned Absol I think an evolved form of Spiritomb would be cool, if it wasn't too broken and got to learn a nice move in the process. Mostly, though, I just want to see the Spiritomb looking more frightening and abstract.

Ninetales is already the height of normal kitsune. The only two evolutions I'd see possible is something with a thousand tails or something that went anthro and was named "Inari"
Both would be kind of pushing it I think.

Not really SS. There are kitsune that surpass the normal limits. Besides the tails thing isnt really a major deal. They signify power and age. So kitsune whom live really long time could theoretically surpass the 9 tails state. But there are also the rare few that achieve 10+tails as normal kitsune.

Well they could use a type that isn't elemental in nature, but still make the pokemon itself such. For example, maybe have a flying-type eeveelution that looks like some sort of wind elemental sporting the typical eeveelution-esque physical traits. Or something like that.
*Edit* Also, regardless of my point above, rock would probably work with the elemental trend as well.

*eats the cookies and berries* Well, I can't help it. I absolutely love eevee and its evolutions. I even have a bit of an eeveelution collection. It's not much due to not having the most expendable income for spending on such things, but it's slowly growing.

I've made a couple eeveelution teams before, but in the present games I just use pokesav to generate my teams. Not that I like to cheat in games. I just don't have the time that those games require to set things up as I desire when it comes to teams designed for pvp matches.

Dude, when I was a kid I drew a lot of different possible appearances of eevee's of all elements, back in the days of red and blue versions. I am totally for more eevee's, I was just thinking "Game Freak" logic.
EDIT: Also I have 2 whole boxes devoted to eevees I bred to try and maximize IV's and natures. I have more eevee than I know what to do with.

And here is a funny fact. Remember when Gold and Silver where in the works still? People thought there would be a grass type Eevee called Leafeon. And remember how people argued how there werent going to be any or if there were it wouldnt be called Leafeon?

Yes, and I remember the very first time I ever played a partially translated rom for Gold before it was released in the US. That only comes up because the pokemon that gets displayed during the beginning dialogue was marill, and both my friend and I who were playing the game recognized it as pikablu.

Stupid mossy rock. I was annoyed with that since they finally made a grass-type eeveelution, and it didn't even use the leaf stone.
Ah yes, I remember those phony evolutions. I remember all of the bologne (is that right?) around the first generation games.
On a random note, I think it's funny how I started this topic back in July, and it only got one reply up until yesterday.
