Kyu simply means Nine. Dunno what Kon means. But I do know Vulpix's Rokon is Six something as well.

I'm glad they changed a lot of the names for the English names. A good deal of the Japanese names I've seen directly translated into English are extremely cheesy, even compared to the cheesier of the English names.

I can agree there. I dont know much japanese but I know a bit from watching fansubs of anime. Helps pick up small things.

Its obvious. Metang is the fusion of 2 beldums. Metang becomes Metagross by two Metang fusing. Least according to the flavor text of pokedex entires and such.

Pheonix's description works as well. I just know that Metagross has four brains because it says so in the pokedex in one or more of the games. As a result, it's able to calculate complex problems faster than a super computer.
